Despite goals from Sparky and Lamby, Copperpot Res. managed to edge a tight game that I think even the most passionate fan would be able to describe as a football match.
Credit to Copperpot for grinding out the win, and credit to our lads too for a decent effort.
Still plenty to play for this season though, with the quarter final of the W E Kay Trophy coming up this Sunday, and then three more league games which could still see us clinch promotion if we manage to improve our goal difference by twenty. Bearing in mind we beat Whitworth Valley 8-1, having been 1-0 down at half-time, I think we all know we’re more than capable of doing this.
Team: Seymour, M. Jones, Mannion, A. Jones, Hall, Wood, Almond, Nuttall, Lyons, Eastwood, Perks
Subs: Day, Hardisty, Emmott, Parker, Lang-Whiston
Goals: Perks, Almond
At the request of the league, please do not comment on anything that happened off the pitch. Just talk about the football. An enquiry is likely so we are being asked to let that issue be resolved through the proper channels.

Nice report MJ.
I Agree that the least said about the non-football side of things the better really.

game was terrible last night the ref was outrageous how anyone can take a quick freekick after some1 as been sent off i dnt no and how a goal direct from an indirect freekick can be allowed amazes me anyway the ref aside the game was a good battle and we will prob meet again in the near future good luck

Nice to see you commenting, 5.
Best wishes to you also.
P.s. what word DOES begin with C, end in T, and is 5 letters? Or were you calling the ref a COUNT?!!!!!
May 2, 2007 at 5:25 pm
It amazes me that there wasn’t one single bad tackle in the game and yet two men were sent off and at least 2 others booked. Good game played in a good spirit, disappointing result from our point of view but we still have plenty to play for this season.

Well done to both teams last night for a great game, which would have been so much better if things out of both teams hands could have been changed like the wind etc.
Good luck to the Copperpot in the future, they are a very good team who try to play football and are enjoyable to play against.
And for my team well played last night we battled and played well and it just wasnt our night, we still have games to play, and we can score the goals needed and win the games needed to finsh second, we are a improving side who as come loads since the start of the season, we have a great group of lads at the football club. It has been great playing with the turks head this season because of the lads at the football club so thank you!
Ps my head kills after headbutting the floor, think i may need a cech Headguard in the future hehehe!
See you thursday night if your in the pub!!!!!!!!

Respect due to Cedric and no.5.We have played each other countless times over the years, and always had good close matches(although you seem to have the beating of us over the years, mainly due to the class players you have signed on).Nothing like last nights debarkle has occured before. You have as a manager, one of the soundest men i know in Fozzy and i wish you well in the future. As for your new found supporters,i can’t even begin to understand them.I just hope and pray they are there when we secure 2nd place.

Sedge, quality headbut, was it as painfull as Easty shoving it up your arse on sat night?
May 2, 2007 at 6:29 pm
Easty would never get near my arse, have you seen is hair!!!!!!!!!! and you should know by now that ladys and me go like strawberrys and cream, theres you answer!!!!!!!!
May 2, 2007 at 6:39 pm
He wouldn’t let me anywhere near him, I had no ID!!
On your point of promotion Lamby. As Kevin Keegan once famously said:
‘I’D LOVE IT IF WE BEAT THEM, LOVE IT!!

Nice to see a couple of copperpot players keeping the peace on here.
Good on you lads.

Sedgey, having a sore head serves you right for showing off with a fancy-ass save when you could have just tipped it over the bar easily. If only you’d moved that much for the first two goals they scored!!
And thanks for commenting ‘5′. I have to admit I was surprised he let that free kick stand…but maybe it evened out the one that was a couple of yards over the line in the first half.
On a more general note, I think the overall standard of refereeing is fairly decent in the Rochdale League…especially compared to the Oldham Sunday League and DEFINITELY compared to the nonsense I had to put up with when I was playing in Canada, where most refs would threaten to send you off for doing a clean sliding tackle!
May 2, 2007 at 7:18 pm
Never mind Easty’s head getting near Sedge’s ass, the only head near anyones ass was my head and Lammy’s remarkably open anus. That was still on e of the weirdest things I’ve seen this year – not to mention one of the most unpleasant.
May 3, 2007 at 10:35 am
I saw Lamby do that a couple of years ago. Really spread his cheeks so you can view his anus.
A truely traumatic experience first time around. To see it repeated on Tuesday night was just horrific. Please don’t do it again Chris. God hid that hole for a reason.
May 3, 2007 at 10:36 am
the ref was a joke, first of all it was a good battle even though a few harsh words were said within the centre between lamby, perks and fozzy junior but its all within a good game i suppose and im sure its not the first time between them and there was some good tackles between them which kept the game flowing quicker.
the ref spoilt it sending both our players off where as non of them should of walked but still the game was to be won by either side and im sure we ll meet in the final to battle it out 11 on 11 with a proper official within the near future.
Good luck with promotion lads anyhow! see you in the final.
hopefully it will as well contended as the last match but like i said with a proper official!
May 3, 2007 at 10:52 am
It was bad enough seeing Lamby’s gaping hole on Tuesday (you could almost see his intestines up there), can’t believe Wiz had to reminds those of us who were doing our best to forget about it. Although, in fairness, I don’t suppose Wiz will ever forget it so he’s trying to include us all in his misery.
Good point 4…IF we make it to the final (we’re only in the quarter finals so far!) having some good officials in place should make for a better match than Tuesday. Let’s face it, it couldn’t get any worse.

This website should be called lammysopenanus.com!
May 3, 2007 at 7:12 pm
i just googled lammysopenanus. Surprisingly there were 13467 results. I don’t feel nearly as special anymore.
May 5, 2007 at 5:35 pm
Fuck all the squabbling.who’s up for blackpool with the blues?!
May 5, 2007 at 5:57 pm
I’m still haunted by the open anus incident….I may need counselling.
May 6, 2007 at 9:25 am
OH WHEN THE BLUES………….
