We play Whitworth Valley three times in the next eight days and also have a couple of tough league games against Wardleworth and Copperpot Res.

Important Training Info

Ok lads, we have some training details sorted out so pay attention.

Thursday, April 19th (tomorrow) – we have the OUTSIDE pitch at Soccer Village booked from 7:00-8:00pm.

Thursday, May 10th onwards – we have a regular slot booked at Soccer Village from 8:00 – 9:00pm.

Other than the dates and times, there are two important things to note:

1) The cost will be £3 per head, as usual.

2) At this time, only registered players are invited. This is because we need to avoid the situation that happened earlier in the season where some lads were only getting 10-15 minutes total playing time.

Please leave a comment indicating if you will be there tomorrow night so we can gauge a rough idea of numbers.

No Match on Thursday

Just to let you know that we DO NOT have a game on Thursday – unfortunately the opposition couldn’t agree to a match on such short notice.

We do have a cup game on Sunday though, and Sparky is still trying to book Soccer Village for an hour on Thursday for those who fancy it.

Website Updates

Just a few things to tell you about… 

1) The FIXTURES, RESULTS and LEAGUE TABLE pages are all now back in place. Each one provides links directly to the appropriate destination on the Rochdale Online site, where the information is updated regularly.

2) There is a newly created STATS page. It’s a bit sparse at the moment, but next season we’ll be tracking all kinds of different facts and figures that we will use to keep this page exciting and interesting.

3) We have created a SPONSORS page. This will be updated in the next couple of weeks to give some profile to those kinds companies and individuals that support the club, and will hopefully be helpful in attracting new sponsors in the future.

4) There is a new GOALS SUMMARY chart. This can be found under the GOLDEN BOOT page and shows you who scored how many against which teams in what competitions this season.

5) One or two players from opposition teams seem to have found their way to this site recently. Whilst we encourage everyone who visits this site to leave a comment and get a bit of good-spirited banter going, be advised that any comments that appear abusive to the Turks Head, it’s players or this website will just be removed straight away.

The Season is BACK ON (and we might have a match on THURSDAY)!

As most of you will have heard by now, our fixtures have been reinstated and the good news is that we already have a cup match scheduled against Whitworth Valley this coming Sunday.

However, the GREAT news is that El Capitano informs me we might have a game as early as Thursday. We’re currently waiting for the potential opposition (Old Bricklayers) to let us know if they’re available, so please keep your eye out for updates as we’ll let you know as soon as we get confirmation either way.

To that end, can everybody who reads this please leave a comment letting us know your availability for potential fixtures on both Thursday and Sunday?

Training Update

The Thinking Man’s Number 8 has taken the bull by the horns and contacted Soccer Village to book a pitch for Thursdays, inside or out, for throughout the summer (and beyond??).

For those who fancy a bit of exercise before our match this Sunday, he is also trying to secure us a slot (either 7-8pm or 8-9pm) for THIS THURSDAY.

Currently waiting for Soccer Village to respond re: availability – it may be that we are looking at a night other than a Thursday - and we’ll update you as soon as we know more. So watch this space for more info…
